Do cats like to wear boots and is there truth in advertising? Will readers encounter a boot-wearing cat?Sarah Beth Durst: Yes, you will meet a boot-wearing cat. The girl on the cover is Julie, the 12-year-old daughter of Rapunzel, and the cat is her adopted brother, Puss-in-Boots. Julie's a perfectly ordinary twelve-year-old girl. Her home life... not so ordinary. My novel is a fantasy adventure (for ages 10 and up) about fairy-tale characters who escaped the fairy tale, and what happens when the fairy tale wants its characters back.
