Apocalypse Wow at Amazon: Wastelands

Here's my feature on the John Joseph Adams-edited Wastelands and, below, a teaser from the full interview, which will eventually appear on the book's Amazon sales page.Any funny stories in the anthology, and how did you deal with the possible problem of similarity of tone throughout the book?I think several of the stories have humor in them, but the only one I might classify as a "funny" story overall is Ginny Sweethips' Flying Circus by Neal Barrett, Jr., which is about a traveling caravan--consisting of a prostitute, her carnival barker, and a weird animal mutant who really, really likes to shoot big guns--which sells sex, tacos, and dangerous drugs to the people they encounter in the wastelands. Though even that one, I'm not sure is really "funny" per se; I'd be more likely to describe it as "fun." I didn't spend much time thinking about tone, actually, but that could be because it all came together pretty naturally. When I settled on the group of stories I wanted to use, there seemed to be a nice range of story types in there to begin with, so I didn't have to do any tinkering in that regard.
