Minor Key News
Although I'll be doing the 2007 summation of comics/graphic novels for The Year's Best Fantasy & Horror, I'm stepping down after that. I have enjoyed doing it, and want to thank Jim Frenkel, the packager, for the opportunity, but (1) it's very time-intensive and (2) I'm not the kind of reader who can do a comprehensive job year-in and year-out. It's not so much that I'm a magpie as that I find new enthusiasms and then mine them out. Which means some years I will be very much in tune with fantasy graphica, and some years I won't. I've recommended a person I think will do a wonderful job, and I believe they're going to use that person. (I'll blog about it once it's official.)I will, however, be adding some work by blogging for Tor.com when that new site goes lives later this year. I'll be contributing posts about the intersection between genre and the (literary) stuff outside of genre. In other news, The Situation is not quite sold out, although it's close. There were over 8,000 downloads of the story from the Wired.com feature, which led to a lot of sales as well. The book is now printed and shipping, so if you need one, you'll probably want to order it sooner rather than later. I can't wait to see my copies. Finally, Ann's jazzed to find out she'll be a judge for the art show at I-CON in a few weeks, in addition to being a critiquer in the convention's writing workshop, and moderating a panel about Weird Tales.
