Iffy Positive Reviews

Here's an interesting post from Larry about bad positive reviews. I have to say, a lazy or just plain amateurish positive review (and I don't mean someone posting a few comments on their personal blog, but a full-on review commissioned by a print mag or website) is a lot worse than a cogent, well-thought-out negative review. At least there's a certain level of respect in that case for someone who actually engaged the book and had something intelligent to say about it.I'm, alas, behind on everything or by now I'd have typed up and posted my thoughts on what constitutes good, thoughtful reviewing. Hopefully by next week sometime.Jeff
