Podcastle Podcast of "Secret Life"

Here's a podcast of my story "Secret Life," which includes a section called "Mimic" that's a personal favorite of mine. There have been several podcasts of my work lately. I am grateful for all of them, but it's weird hearing this stuff in someone else's voice. The person reading "Secret Life" doesn't klang--it seems a safe reading, most of it right, but can't, for example, know that "violet sad soulful eyes" is supposed to be sarcastic. A couple of others recently sound odd to my ear, but that's probably just me. Like, the emphasis on this one seems to be wrong, mistaking horror and strange beauty for something else. Or, this one (somewhere in the middle; 48 minutes?), which makes collapsing terror in a European mode seem like something redneck and mechanical. But I know all of these podcasts have gotten good reviews, so I think it's probable that I just need to do more of them myself. For better or worse then I'll have the emphasis and even the mistakes I want. I'm currently getting the software and other stuff together for just that purpose. One thing I want to do is podcast Finch in chapters.
